Dr Yiannos Katsourides is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Nicosia, Department of Governance and Politics. He has held visiting fellowships from the Hellenic Observatory of the European Institute of the LSE (2011, 2017), the Institute of Commonwealth Studies of the University of London (2010-2015) and the British School at Athens (2012). His research interests include South European Politics, Cyprus and Greek politics, radical left and extreme right political parties, political participation, and political institutions. He is the author of three books and his articles have appeared in a number of peer reviewed scientific journals. He was previously Director of Prometheus Research Institute (2011-2019), adjunct lecturer at the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Cyprus (2010-2019) and parliamentary assistant in the House of Representatives (2002-2011). He was also elected Municipal Council in Strovolos municipality (2011-2016).

 

Chrystalla Agathocleous holds a bachelor in Modern Languages and European Studies from the University of Cyprus. Following the completion of her undergraduate studies, she received a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Jean Moulin Lyon III University in Lyon, France. During her studies, she has conducted research on nationalism, far-right parties and movements, political socialization and ethnic conflicts.  In addition, she has participated in various Erasmus+ programs focusing on issues of youth participation and aiming to raise awareness against racial discrimination and intolerance. Ms Agathocleous is currently a Senior Officer of the Consular Section of the Embassy of France in Cyprus. Since 2015 she has had an active voluntary role in the NGO Cyprus Stop Trafficking militating against of human trafficking and for the protection of its victims. She is also part-time researcher in a research project focusing on political parties and movements of the radical left.

 

Ourania Dimitriou currently works as an English teacher at a private institute. She holds a BA in English Language and Literature from European University Cyprus and an MA in English Literature and Comparative Cultural Studies from the University of Cyprus. During her studies, she was the vice president of the Linguistics Club and a member of the Literary Society. Having an active role in both clubs, she contributed to the organisation of cultural events, lectures and seminars. She has taken part in poetry and writing contests.

Adamos Efstathiou: holds a bachelor’s degree of Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cyprus and he is also pursuing a law degree at the University of Nicosia. Adamos is currently the Executive Secretary of the “People’s Athletic Club Omonoia 29M”. He holds this position in the club since it’s foundation in 2018 which he also is one of the founding members of it. Adamos has a vast experience in activities related to social solidarity, anti-racism and assistance to immigrants. He was previously involved in the board of a youth sports association.

Dr. Andreas Kamilaris (male) received the BA degree in Computer Science from University of Cyprus in 2007 and the MS degree in Distributed Systems from the ETH University of Zurich, Switzerland in 2009.  He performed his PhD at the University of Cyprus, focusing on the topic of “Enabling Smart Homes using Web Technologies” at the Computer Science department. During this time, he co-founded Elevate-Me Promotions, which was the first company that brought to Cyprus the radical-new concept of elevator advertising. After his PhD, Andreas performed postdoc research at the National University of Singapore, (studying techniques for reducing the ICT-based plug loads in offices and commercial buildings), at the University of Cyprus (project manager of the Social Electricity Online Platform European project), and at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics of the National University of Ireland (research related to real-time Internet-of-Things stream processing and large-scale data analytics for smart city applications). Andreas received a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship in 2016, working at the Institute of Agriculture and Food Research and Technology (IRTA Barcelona), through the European P-SPHERE project, collaborating with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, performing research on big data analysis and applications in the agri-food sector. By April 2018, he has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) of the University of Twente, the Netherlands. Since May, 2019 he is the leader of the SuPerWorld Multidisciplinary Research Group at the CYENS Center of Excellence, which is the largest research and innovation center in Cyprus, supported by the 3 big public universities of the country and the Municipality of Nicosia, which is the capital of Cyprus. During his career, Andreas has published more than 70 research papers, has more than 3,000 citations, has raised more than 5 millions of research funding and has received several awards and has co-founded three start-ups.

Owner of a licensed recycling company in Nicosia since 2011 which mainly focuses on the recycle of paper and plastic and shareholder of a recycling factory in Greece for the recycling of pet. 2016 to date : active member of the board of Recycling and Industrial Association in Cyprus as secretary of the Board. 2016-2018: participated in the board of Omonia Athletic Club 2016 – 2018 as football curator. 2018- to date:active member of the board of People’s Athletic Club Omonia 29M as organizational secretary.

Andreas Michael, currently immersed in his PhD studies at the University of Cyprus, is a dedicated scholar in Psychology with a wealth of academic achievements. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Cyprus and a Postgraduate degree from the University of Kent, he possesses a robust academic background. Andreas has extended his expertise by teaching Introduction to Psychology to undergraduate students at the University of Cyprus and actively contributing to scholarly publications. His primary research focus lies in social psychology, transitional justice, and conflict resolution, with a specific emphasis on the Cyprus problem. His PhD project delves into the intricate dynamics of justification mechanisms of the status quo, perceptions of transitional justice, and potential solutions for the Cyprus problem, reflecting his dedication to advancing knowledge and fostering reconciliation in divided societies. Now, Andreas serves as the Project Coordinator at the R&D Department of the Athletic Club Omonoia 29 May and Cultural Center 1948 Cyprus, where he continues to apply his expertise in psychology and research.

Nasia Lina Georgiou holds a BSc in Law, Economics and Political Sciences with a specialisation in Political Sciences and Public Administration from the University of Athens, Greece. After her studies she worked for six months as an intern in the European Office of Cyprus in Brussels. In 2016 she received her MSc in Political and Social Theory from the University of Cyprus and the Autonomous University of Madrid. Parallel to her studies she represented Cyprus in different programmes and training courses as a Youth Ambassador. She has also worked as a Social Counsellor with refugees, she was a volunteer in the Kofinou Refugees Camp and for a number of years she has been teaching Greek to vulnerable groups. Her academic and personal interests include human rights, the participation of youth in politics, alternative forms of education and the politicization of soccer and soccer fans in general
