The “ACT Stronger” project is a collaborative effort among several European organizations to address current challenges facing Europe, including the impact of new technologies, equality, climate change, migration and security concerns, and the effects of the COVID-19 crisis. The project aims to support EU initiatives by summarizing progress in Member States on European democracy action plans and EU Citizenship reports. It analyzes local/regional policies, develops the Citizens’ Europe e-Paper, and provides recommendations to MEPs based on citizens’ visions for the future of Europe.

Objectives:

  1. Summarize progress in 8 Member States on European democracy action plans.
  2. Analyze strengths and weaknesses in local/regional policies.
  3. Develop the Citizens’ Europe e-Paper.
  4. Provide MEPs with recommendations based on citizens’ visions.
  5. Engage citizens in forums, debates, and solidarity acts on EU challenges.
  6. Reach citizens indirectly through social media, awareness campaigns, and events.

Current Status:

The project is currently in its implementation phase, engaging directly with 800 citizens and indirectly reaching about 8000 citizens across 15 countries. Tailored discussions on specific topics are ongoing in partner countries, aiming to foster citizen engagement and enable their contributions to the EU’s strategic agenda. As the project nears completion, it is transitioning to its final stages, with the upcoming penultimate meeting scheduled to take place in Berlin, followed by a concluding virtual meeting.

Findings:

As the project progresses, detailed findings will be shared regarding citizens’ perspectives, recommendations to policymakers, and the overall impact on civic engagement and EU priorities. The outcomes of the project will be disclosed upon its conclusion.
